Activity list default sequence

When viewing lists of Open Activities, Closed Activities and Emails, the lists appear in a random sequence, which is both frustrating and potentially misleading. Can these be shown newest at the top (reverse chronoligical) please as the default.

I'd also like to see the Closed Activity and Email lists combined into a single list, to present a compete history of interactions with a given Lead, Contact and Account.
