Make Task ID and Issue ID columns filterable like all other columns

Make Task ID and Issue ID columns filterable like all other columns

Hello Zoho Projects Team,
We hope you are doing well.

We would like to submit a feature request regarding the Task ID and Issue ID columns in Zoho Projects list views.

Current Limitation:

As of now, in both the Tasks and Issues modules, almost every visible column in the table supports filtering directly from the column header and also through the Filter panel.

However, the Task ID / Issue ID column is the one exception and currently cannot be filtered.

This creates an inconsistency in the table behavior.

Why this is a UI/UX problem:

From a user experience perspective, when all visible columns in the same table behave as filterable fields, users naturally expect the ID column to behave the same way.

The current behavior breaks that expectation.

The only way to locate an issue / task by it's ID is using the global search option.

When users see the ID as a first-class visible column but discover it is the only field that cannot be filtered, it feels like:

  • incomplete table behavior
  • inconsistent UX logic
  • unexpected limitation
  • unnecessary friction in everyday navigation

This is especially noticeable because the ID is one of the most fundamental fields in the entire module.

Requested Enhancement:

We kindly request that the Task ID and Issue ID columns become filterable just like every other visible column in the table.

This should ideally support:

  • column-level filter access
  • filter panel support
  • custom views compatibility
  • saved filter support

Benefits:

  • consistent UI behavior across all columns
  • more intuitive table interactions
  • improved predictability for users
  • better overall UX quality
  • removes unnecessary friction from a core field

This is a small change, but it would improve the consistency and usability of the Tasks and Issues modules.

Thank you for considering this enhancement and for continuously improving Zoho Projects.

Kind regards,
Ram
