Public Forms facilitates users outside the organization to submit tasks or requests to the organization. It brings external requests directly into your workspace.
Public Forms is now available for Custom Modules as well. (Previously available only for Work Items)
With Public Forms in Custom Modules, you can create a single point of entry for collecting feedback and requests from different sources. Customers can raise their requests, sales reps can share their ideas, internal teams can report issues during meetings.
You can share the public form URL with the end users, embed it in the help center and organization's website so that the form is accessible at any point in time.
Customize the public form with fields specific to feature requests, how-tos, and issues, so that every submission arrives with enough context. Once the form is submitted, it becomes a record in the custom module, for the team to quickly process the request and act based on the priority level of the request.
Example:
Imagine several Agile teams working in two-week sprints. The team receives customer requests, reported issues, and new ideas in the custom module called Backlog Requests, using a Public Form.
Process in agile workflow
- Collect requests: Receives the customer requests, issues and new ideas through the public forms.
- Create records: Submitted forms are added as records in the custom module with the status as "New".
- Route requests to the respective DRIs: A workflow is set where the Feature requests are assigned to product owners while the issues are assigned to customer support teams.
- Prioritize and plan requests: Product owner checks the backlog, and prioritizes the work items for the upcoming sprints.
This process helps the agile teams to centralize and streamline the requests submitted through public forms, and include them while sprint planning.
Hope this feature enhances your agile workflow.
