Currently, Zoho Inventory does not support uploading new items along with their parent and sub inventory categories using the item import feature. This creates challenges for businesses with structured inventory hierarchies when trying to upload items in bulk.
Feature Suggestions:
Allow item import with inventory categories:
Enable users to assign parent and sub-categories to items during the CSV import process. If the categories don’t already exist, the system should create them automatically.
Add a separate import option for inventory categories:
Alternatively, provide a dedicated import feature to upload all parent and sub inventory categories in bulk before item upload.
These enhancements would save time and reduce manual work, especially for companies managing a large or complex inventory.
