could someone kindly advise how adding a domain could affect my current hosting?

i registered with godaddy and i have a hosting account with hostgator...

i do fancy the whole zoho apps thing and would like to give it a go but if i add my domain, will this affect in anyway as my website is currently being designed, would this mean i have to host the website on zoho or i can still host it at hostgator? how will this also affect the emails?

just want to find out, if i add my domain to zoho, would i be able to continue hosting with hostgator and just manage my emails from zoho?
