Alerts?

Is there a way to create an alert for leads which meet a certain criteria? More specifically, I have a custom field within the Leads module which I use to show me leads which I have given estimates to. I would like to have an alert to tell me when it has been one week since the date which I gave them an estimate. Is this possible?
