Is it possible to allow users to change the date function in a chart?

For example, I have a sales chart where the date function is set to 'month'.  I would like for my users to be able to update this to week/quarter/year/etc. to be able to see their sales broken down by different time frames. I know that when I publish to users, I can provide them with the option to filter in different ways and show different time periods, but in all cases, the data is shown monthly.
