I cannot believe this just happened,

We have an Account/Business Company registered over three years ago in Zoho CRM, with several Contacts related to it.

And today we noticed that a person belonging to this company was still a Lead, so we converted him into a Contact... But what is our surprise when this lead´s description (now a contact) overwrote the ACCOUNT´S DESCRIPTION !!! WHY would that happen ?!

And we found no way to revert this back, so now we lost that description because we cannot remember exactly what it said... we do know that the "new description" is completely unrelated to the Account because it happened to have info specific to the newly converted Contact.

Not sure if this has happened before and we didn´t even noticed, but all I can say is that there is no reason why a Lead´s description should ever overwrite an Account´s description, even if the Lead belonged to it.

Zoho should differentiate when a Lead´s Account is already created (and NOT TOUCH ITS INFO) vs creating it from scratch while Converting into a Contact.

We had even disabled Mass Imports precisely because of info getting overwritten or duplicated no matter how carefully we do it, and now this happens :(
