We get referral deals for our business. For some of our referring partners, we have contracts set-up with them that they will get a percentage of the deal amount. Because the deals can be any amount, the referral fee that we will pay out can be of infinite amount. We want to automatically create the bills in Zoho Books, since we pay out at the referral fees at the end of the month and want to document our payments agains these bills when we actually send out payment. But when I try to create a bill in Zoho Books, I am required to specify an item. I can't possibly be expected to create a new item every single time since again, we are paying a percentage of the deal amount, and that number will be different almost every time. Is there ANY way that I can create a bill without having to specify an item (which has a fixed $ amount)? This seems to be possible when creating an expense. Why can't I do the same with a bill? I just want to say how much it's for, not what item is on the bill. Please help.

Is there another way that Zoho recommends we handle this if there is no way around the item requirement.
