Anyone using Books to track Project Profitability? If so, I could use some guidance
Hello Zoho Community.
I am a recent subscriber to Zoho, and its part of an ongoing evaluation. My company (and my clients) have extensive project-tracking needs. The Projects module seems to be good from a project management standpoint, but I am perplexed how to accurately derive project profitability reports.
Since Books doesn't show the projects created in Projects, how am I supposed to generate Project Profitability reports? Do I have to enter the same project in both Books and Projects?
And it seems that in Books, I can't distribute charges on a given vendor bill among multiple projects. Is this correct?
And further, I do many month-end accrual entries for revenue, accrued expenses, deprec, prepaid exp amortization. It doesn't appear that I can record a manual journal entry and assign the various line item entries to a specific project. Is this correct?
If you are a project-intensive company, I'd really like to hear about how you are able to accurately track project profitability with the above limitations.
Thanks in advance,
Mark
