Business needs

CRM becomes ineffective as data within it gets duplicated or multiple records start to represent the same entity. The effort involved in correcting an error resulting from a duplicate record is much larger than in preventing one.
Finding exact duplicate matches is not sufficient. The record usually looks different in a field but still refers to an existing entity. The algorithms need to be able to distinguish between variations, and such cases run into tens of thousands.
The user should be able to see the record across multiple parameters and their combinations (like Name, Mobile, Mobile and Email, Company Name, Phone Number, Website, etc).

DeDupe provides the proven AI-based algorithms of pattern matching to Zoho CRM users. It uses a combination of deterministic and probabilistic algorithms at its core. The complexity is hidden behind a single user interface that shows the results.
These algorithms have been trained on millions of records and have learned from their "experience". For example, the system is able to see the city field of “New York” to be same as “NY”, “N.Y.”, “New-York” or “newyork”. It knows that while “Gurgaon” is a valid name of the Indian city, its new name is “Gurugram,” and they need to be considered similar. At a more advanced level, it's able to see the similarity between the names of “Mohammad Kasim” and “Mr. Mohd. Kasim” and will cluster them as potential duplicate names to be worked on.
