Tags in Zoho CRM are humble labels you can earmark your records with for quick classification and recognition.
You can tag records one by one when you have only a few records to update; you can automate tagging when you want to repeat the behavior based on a trigger, and you can choose to add or update tags through import overwrite when you have to make bulk updates of tags in your records.
Today, we are here with a useful enhancement to the tag update action done via import overwrite. Let's go!
Thus far, when you import a sheet to update existing records, the tags in the spreadsheet will overwrite the tags present in the record. This is a direct replacement of tags from the spreadsheet onto the records. But, many a times, you do not want to replace but just add the spreadsheet tags to the existing tags in the record. This is achieved in this enhancement.
Append new tags to the existing ones:
When you import your file to update the existing records, you'd be asked to map fields in the sheet with the CRM application. Against the tag field, you can choose how you'd like to add these tags to the record—to append them with the existing tags or replace them.
If Append is selected, the tags from the file will be added to the record, not disturbing the existing tags.
If Replaced is selected, existing tags in the records will be replaced by the new ones from the sheet.
This enhancement will save you a lot of time. You need not manually add tags to all of the desired records; simultaneously without erasing the existing tags.
