Applying a filter for a scheduled email report

I'm trying to generate a report on a daily basis and have them emailed out to users.  In these reports, I want to apply a filter to the report so that only the information for "today" (the transactions for the day) are included in the daily report.  

When I use the "Edit Email Schedule" capability, the reports are produced and emailed, but they include ALL the transactions versus just "today's" transactions.  I setup a user-filter on the report with the default filter value of "Today", but I still get ALL the transactions.

Any ideas?
