Attention Gmail & Google Apps Users: Revise your Calendar Settings for Seamless Event Synchronization

Google has introduced newer versions of APIs for its Google Calendar application. The older version of APIs will be discontinued from use by November 17, 2014. Read Google's Deprecation Policy here: https://developers.google.com/google-apps/calendar/terms

Following this update, Zoho CRM has switched to the latest versions of the API.  If you are using Zoho CRM for Google Calendar and your account is NOT on the latest version, your events will not sync with CRM after the older version expires. (i.e. after November 17th, 2014).  Therefore you need to check your version immediately and revise the settings if are you still on the older version.

To check the version,

  1. Click Setup > Apps & Add-ons > Google Apps
  2. In the Zoho CRM for Google page, under the Sync Summary section, check the value for Google Calendar API.

If it says V3, it means you are on the latest version. You do not have to revise any settings.

If it says V2, you must revise your Google Calendar settings . If not, event synchronization will not work for your account.

The instructions to revise the settings are given below.

Non-Google Apps Users (Regular Gmail users)

If you are a non-Google Apps user, you must re-authenticate your account.

  1. Log in to accounts.google.com
  2. Click the Security tab and select View all in the App Permissions sub section
  3. Next, click gadgets.zoho.com from the list and hit Revoke access.
  4. In Zoho CRM, go to Setup > Apps & Add-ons > Google Apps > Calendar > Authenticate Google Calendar.

Please note that if you've already configured the Google Contacts Synchronization, then you need to authenticate the Contacts synchronization separately.

Google Apps Users:

If you are a Google Apps user, you must re-install Zoho CRM from Google Marketplace.

  1. Go to http://mail.google.com and login as Super Admin.
  2. Click the ' Setup ' icon > Manage this domain > Admin Console > Marketplace Apps and look for Zoho CRM . Click on it.
  3. Next, click on the 'trash' icon on the right corner. By doing this, you will remove the Zoho CRM app from your Google Apps Marketplace.
  4. Now, search Zoho CRM from the Marketplace, afresh, and reinstall.
