Auto-Fill Custom Fields

The basic functionality when i create a new quote, sales order, invoice allows for filling in the account information such as address. I have added custom Billing Contact and Billing Account fields as well as Shipping Contact and Shipping Account fields to the Accounts Module. I have then added the fields to Quotes, Invoices, and Sales Orders modules as well as Layouts. I see the fields but they do not auto populate with the corresponding information from the Accounts module when I am creating new quotes, invoices, or sales orders in the address information section once I select the account. The rest of the information fills in like normal. What step am I missing here?
