Automatically updating date based on field status change

Automatically updating date based on field status change

I am working on some automated date stuff and having a bit of a hard time getting the script. I have a checkout form in that I would like the "Return_Date" field to be automatically updated to the current date and time when the "Status" field is updated to "Returned". Any help is greatly appreciated.
