Automating sales tasks

I have a lot of CRM experience, particularly with salesforce
.com over the past five years. Can't seem to figure out how to do some stuff that was really simple in SFDC.
 
I am preparing a cold-call, telemarketing campaign.  I assign about 50 leads to the campaign.  Then the coldcaller is suppossed to make three call attempts to each lead during the week the campaign is scheduled. I am accustomed to referring to the three tasks as:
  • Make 1st Call
  • Make 2nd Call
  • Make 3rd Call

Ideally I want a solution where I can select all 50 leads assigned to the campaign and then ceate a pending Make 1st Call task for each of them. 

Ideally, a script or some automated process creates a Make 2nd Call task when the Make 1st Call task is marked as completed.

Ideally, a script or some automated process creates a Make 3rd Call task when the Make 2nd Call task is marked as completed.
 
How might I go about automating the creation of these tasks in ZohoCRM?
Does Zoho make a distinction between a task and an activity?
