Autonumber link between Invoices and Sales Orders?

Hi,

I am trying to create a Sales Order form where an autonumber is created for each record.

Manually I want to convert an individual entry to an Invoice. I would like the autonumber generated in Sales Orders to carry over as to create no duplicate records between the modules.

Is this possible to do?
