Autoresponders not being tracked

We just set up a Web-to-Lead form with an Autoresponse.
 
Just curious as to why this email doesn't appear in the Lead's history / email activity?
 
It would make sense if this was incl. in the email history, since the next person viewing this contact otherwise has no idea what has already been sent.
