B2C Is Not Just Turning off the Company Field!
So, I've been trying out several CRM systems, and for some reason they all keep doing things the same way. I totally understand the Leads/Accounts/Contacts from a business perspective, but it makes absolutely no sense from a B2C perspective.
First off, most B2C businesses don't have the concept of non-qualified leads. A CD store is not cold-calling people asking them to come buy something. If they have someone's information, then that means they probably already bought something which means they are already a customer and have skipped the lead conversion process.
In Zoho I remove the Leads tab. Fine, great.
But then explain to me why I need two records (Accounts and Contact) for one person? And I can't just use contacts and hide the accounts tab because you can't associate potentials with contacts, only accounts. (yes, you would use potentials in B2C. If a customer says they are interested in a certain band, you would create a potential for an upcoming new album for example).
And I can't just use accounts because you can't invite accounts to events. (Like a music appreciation meeting or something).
For B2C, you really need to be able to merge account and contact, its not just turning off a field or two and calling it good.
