AM I just missing something? Seer, alike the whole point of CRM, I don't really cars about sales funnels, I care about follow ups and building relationships. My business is small order sales from repeat customers, I'm searching for a solution that efficiently allows me to track my interactions with my clients.

I have used many mid-market CRM systems, and in Zoho CRM I am missing a great feature many/most of them had.
There are very few times when completing one activity doesn't then generate the need to plan something else in future. There's always something you should plan on doing, even on a lost opportunity or lead (e.g. put them on a drip campaign).
This is ESPECIALLY true when you have closed an activity or just sent an email. There needs to be an option when finishing one of those things to create a task or event ot follow it up.
for example, if I just sent an initial contact email or left a phone message for someone, I want options AS I DO THAT to:
1. Schedule the follow-up activity (Task, Phone Call, Event), AND
2. Carry over the dialog/notes from that last action (e.g. the subject and body of the email) into the follow-up task (e.g. scheduling a phone call for the next working day).
