Brief overview of our recent enhancements

Hello everyone,

In today's post, we will take you through the recent enhancements in Zoho CRM. Let us take a look at each of these in detail.

Enhancements in the Zoho Projects Integration

Mapping Projects and CRM fields - While configuring the integration, you will be able to map both standard and custom fields from Zoho Projects with the corresponding CRM fields in the Accounts and Deals modules. This will ensure that the fields are auto-populated every time a new project is created in Zoho CRM. For example, fields such as Account Type, Account Name, Deal Status or Description can be mapped to ensure they are auto populated for the new projects.

Mapping clients with CRM accounts - The Client Users in Zoho Projects that are the exact match of Accounts in Zoho CRM are automatically mapped during the integration. However, in cases where the clients do not match, you can select a particular client and map them to the respective CRM accounts with the help of Custom Mapping.

Enhancements in Data Backup
The user interface of this feature is completely updated. We have introduced new timelines for downloading backups and have also displayed the sequence of backup activities.
Choose when to backup
You can select when the backup must be available for download from the below mentioned options:
  • Twice a month - You can take the backup twice a month on the day that you choose.
  • Once a month - The backup will be available every month on the exact day or date that you choose.
  • Every week - The backup will be downloaded every week on the day that you mention.
  • Download immediately - To have a data backup on demand, you can choose the download immediately option.

Logs
The logs section will display the sequence of events in the backup files in a chronological order. The information will include date, time and the actions that are performed such as:
  • Configuration - Upon scheduling backup, the log will be updated with the configuration chosen by the user. For example, Sophia Isha scheduled a biweekly backup.
  • Backup is ready to download - The logs will be updated when the scheduled Data Backup is ready for downloading.
  • Download initiated - When the user downloads the archived data backup, the logs will be updated with the appropriate date and time in which the action was initiated.
  • Stopping a scheduled backup - When a data backup such as monthly/weekly/biweekly, that was scheduled earlier, is stopped by the user, the logs will be updated with the appropriate date, time and the name of the administrator who executed this action.
  • Backup purchase details - When the data backup is purchased, the logs will be updated with the relevant data.

Enhancements in Canvas View
There are two important additions to the canvas view feature:
  • During the copy customization action you will be able to choose a module's canvas view too.
  • A new section named "My Organization Canvas" is added in all the modules that will display all the canvas views that you have created so far for every module. You will be able to select one of these existing templates and simply replicate them. As such, the designs followed in the parent template will be applied to the new canvas view.

Enhancements in Validation Rule
Validation rule helps you ascertain the accuracy of the data entered by a user in CRM. You can define specific conditions based on which the user is alerted. With the latest enhancement you will be able to choose when the user should be alerted:
  • When conditions are met - For example, if you want the deal discounts to be only 15%. You can define the rule as: Discount >15%. In this case, the users will be alerted whenever the discount amount entered is more than 15% or meets the defined condition.
  • When conditions are not met - For example, if you want to validate the SSN number. You can define the rule as: Number of characters = 9. In this case, the user will be alerted whenever the value entered to the field is less or more than 9; in other words whenever the condition is not met.
