CALENDAR Events, invite not posting on calendar of invited person, calendar on HOME showing future events

Example #1:  One of my employees invites me to an event.  I get an email.  However, it is not on my calendar.  

Question #1:  How can I have it automatically go on my calendar?  For me to accept or reject?

Example #2:  On "Classic View" in Home Screen there is only "Today's Events".  I believe the calendar would be infinitely more useful if it showed the NEXT 7 DAYS of events (like default in Salesforce).

Question #2:  How to accomplish this?  I see I can create a view using just events, but I prefer the view in "Class View".  In fact, you have on the TASKS in "Classic View" a drop-down like "Next 7 Days + Overdue".  This type of vision, but in the future, would be great for calendar events.
