For all those of you who've been looking to make calls to your CRM leads/ contacts using the RingCentral app on your device, we have a quick tip on how you can go about with it.
For the calls made through RingCentral to be synced with the CRM application, you will have to integrate the RingCentral app in CRM application. You can refer to this help document for a step by step walk through.
Steps to be followed to log the calls made through RingCentral:
iOS:
In iOS, you can make calls to your leads/ contacts using 'Spotlight' search option.
STEP 1: Enable 'Spotlight Search' within the CRM app settings:
To enable the Spotlight search option, please go to the CRM mobile app settings > Privacy & Security settings > Enable Spotlight Search.
STEP 2: Call the Lead/ Contact from Spotlight search:
Go to the home screen of your iOS device and swipe the screen downwards > In the search bar, type the name of the lead/ contact to whom you would like to place a call.
Once the details of the lead/ contact pops up, please click the call button.
Note: The spotlight search will use the phone number entered in the default 'Phone' field within the record to call the Lead/ Contact.
The list of installed apps through which you can place calls will be displayed. Select 'RC Phone/ RingCentral' . This will launch the 'RingCentral/ RC Phone' app through which you can make the call.
Note: The '

' mobile app should be installed on your device for this workaround to function.
Android:
Step 2: Initiate calls from the CRM app.
Go to CRM mobile app > Open a record (Lead/ Contact) > Clicking the call button available within the record will list the installed apps through which you can initiate calls.
Step 3: Select the 'RingCentral' app.
Choose 'RingCentral/ RC phone' option from the list. You will be redirected to the 'RingCental/ RC phone' app and the call will be initiated.
Note: This option is supported in Android versions 5 and above.
In case you set RingCentral as 'Always' to make calls from the app and if you would like to revert to your default phone dialler, you can do so by going on to your mobile device's settings > App & notifications > Ring Central > Open by default > Clear default.
Will the Incoming calls from Leads/ Contacts be logged? Yes, it works for incoming calls as well. Both in iOS and Android app, the calls from the Leads/ Contacts made to your RingCentral number will be logged within the respective record.
