Can I create a button that mass updates a form?

I have a cash flow tracking form that includes aggregated account amounts.  Is there a way for me to create a button for this form that pulls and summarizes account amounts from a transaction log form when the button is pushed or when the form is loaded?

If help text exists, can you point me to it?
