Can I verify using MX records?

I can't verify my domain using TXT or CName records because the web designer won't give me the Wix login details.

I do have domain registrar details but when I edit the TXT or CName records they won't verify because of the NS pointing to Wix.

I can edit the MX records, can I verify Zoho mail with the MX records?
