can't get email to stay "read" on phone

can't get email to stay "read" on phone

I've loaded zoho onto phone, able to receive and send email, but the emails that I've read keep going back to "unread" status as though they are new emails. How can I get them to stay in "read" status?

I'm using an LG Ally android phone with Verizon wireless as the carrier.
