Can users unsubscribe from the current list but stay on others?
We have a monthly newsletter and a weekly update. When I test the unsubscribe link I am presented with the following screen, implying ALL communication will halt.
I have found this related forum post that implies when a user subscribes to the list manually, the default behavior would be different when they unsubscribe. How can I test this?
So let's assume the above is true. What happens when we migrate our mailing lists from ConstantContact. I am importing subscribers, so they didn't use a form to sign up, so they will automatically unsubscribe from all communication? How can we make this work for existing subscribers?
I understand you are trying to protect users from spam but the unsubscribe behavior as it is set is not what most people would expect. Here's what ideally needs to happen:
- User clicks unsubscribe link in campaign sent to LIST A -> "You are unsubscribing from LIST A. If you want to stop all communication from this sender click here" (optionally present a list with checkboxes for all lists)
- IF user opted to unsubscribe from ALL -> Sync to ZohoCRM Opt-Out checkbox
- Sender can no longer send any campaigns unless user resubscribes
- IF user opted to unsubscribe from LIST A only -> Sync to (custom) ZohoCRM field LIST A Opt-Out
- Sender can still send campaigns to this user, except via LIST A
When a user clicks update profile this already sort of happens as described above.
P.S. I talked to support (via chat) 5 hours ago and was promised a call by a Campaigns support specialist within the hour. This never happened.
