Can Workflow Email notifications be sent via IMAP email account

Our CRM users are all configured to send emails via IMAP

It seems though that any email notifications sent via a workflow are sent via Zoho's mail servers.

How do we get our workflow email notifications to send using our IMAP email accounts. I have tried choosing different users to send the email in the workflow - all have IMAP configured and all go via IMAP if they just send an email message directly to a contact in CRM.
