Can you assign a task to the record owner through workflows?

Can you assign a task to the record owner through workflows?

When assigning tasks from workflows, I want to assign it to the contact/lead owner but I cannot. I must choose a specific owner. Is there a {Lead.Owner} code or something to allow me to automatically assign these tasks?
