Can you get notifed via email when someone posts in a group?

I am looking for a piece of software for a non-profit group of home schoolers that we can use to run a discussion board and event scheduling. This software looks promising, but is there a way to set it up so that if some one posts a message in a group, others can get an automatic email of the post with the option to go and read it again later? If not, do you have any other software that would provide this feature?
