Cannot download new emails in inbox on iOS

Starting yesterday, new emails no longer appear in my inbox on my iPhone or iPad. I can navigate to other folders (sent, trash, spam, etc.) and download messages from there. I can also access new messages in my inbox with Apple Mail on the desktop or Zoho web mail. However, when I open my inbox on an iOS device, I briefly see "Downloading 1 of X", where X is the number of new messages in my inbox, but nothing is ever downloaded. I don't have this problem with any of my other email accounts on the same device (Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud).
