Can't import Accounts and Vendor Name not appearing in Contacts

Hello there

I'm having a few teething problems - help please?

1) I imported a csv file of 30 or so contacts but the 'Vendor Name' doesn't appear in the individual contacts. Although it is a column in the main Contacts list  page.

2) I imported a csv file of Accounts. (Thought that might have been the issue). But they are not importing - getting Skipped'.  The error message is 'No matching record found. - Account Name.'   I clearly have filed in the 'Account Name' column in the csv.

I can only manually create individual Vendor Name's in an individual Contact file.  Then I have to go though and individually  Associate each contact with the Vendor.

Not sure if Zoho is the best bet if I cannot manage this basic function of data importation for a few contacts...
