How can I change the page layout selection for existing records? Before this functionality was availability, my standard page layouts became a catch-all of many different fields to cover many different scenarios.
Now with the ability to have a separate page layout for each scenario I can clean-up my forms. The problem I am running into, is that even if I create new page layouts I can't move existing records to the new layout.
This means that I can never clean-up the standard page layout and will always be stuck showing all of these fields. If I change the standard page (which I unfortunately did) it will remove fields that have data that I can't see in new page layouts.
Obviously this does not affect any new records, only pre-existing records. However, the user must not make a mistake and choose the wrong layout going foward.
I am hoping I missed something here that would allow me to change page layouts on existing records?
