Changes in lookup field column headers

Hello everyone,
This post serves to inform you about a minor change we've made to data backup files, wherein we've modified lookup field column headers for consistency. Previously, these headers were formulated to end with "space Id", whereas they're now formulated to end with "dot id". Example: "Account Id" is being changed to "Account".
The below image clearly shows the changes implemented. 

A detailed explanation about the changes and impacts caused by the changes are addressed below. 

Before the update 

In the data backup file downloaded from Zoho CRM, the column headers of lookup fields adhered to the format shown in the following examples:
  • {Module} Owner Id
  • Created By Id,
  • Parent {module} Id
  • {Custom lookup field label} Id

After the update 

In this update, the entire field label appears to be the column header with .id added as a suffix. As of this update, the column headers follows the format as shown in the following examples:
  • {Module}
  • Created
  • Parent {module}.id
  • {Custom lookup field label}.id


This update will affect certain scenarios, such as the following:
  • When a CRM data backup file is to be imported into an analytics tool, the column header should be re-mapped accordingly based on the new column header, as the data imported previously would have had a different column header.
  • When the CRM data backup file is used to automate data in the user's system via API.
  • When the data in the CRM data backup file is being used for a formula or a custom function. 
If you don't re-map fields or make changes to the API code (used internally), it could result in a breakage of those integrations. It's therefore important for users to make the required changes after the update. The table below shows the changes implemented in all the lookup fields:

Release details 

Beginning on April 10, 2023, the changes will be in effect. This change will happen over all the DC's and editions.
