So, I contacted Support today because I want to eliminate the possibility for error or just to eliminate the potential for multiple ways of entering the billing and shipping state.

The standard field is single line (manual entry).

I want to just load the 2 letter abbreviation for each state and make it a picklist.

Chat support says this is their current flow and thus not able to do it.

This is mind-boggling.

Anyone find an alternative?

I removed the field, but can't delete and create my own new field. Which is ridiculous...

Anyone's tips would be appreciated.
