Changing date format has no effect

Evaluating Zoho to see if it will work for my company and noticed that even though I am the admin, changing the date format has no effect on the dates that are displayed, e.g. in the gantt view. In Canada we use month-day-year and that's what I've selected, but dates still show as day-month-year. I read another posting on this topic, but it was four years old and there was no indication of a resolution. Is this a known issue?
