Client Only Notes and Comments From Mobile App

There are a couple of things I can't determine the difference on. How do others work with the following?

  1. On the CRM mobile app (iOS) you can make a "comment" on a note, task, etc. However, the only place I can see this comment in the desktop CRM record is in the timeline. Is there somewhere else these can be seen within the client record? 
    1. The comment feature is MUCH better than a note for every single internal communication on a task, etc. 
  2. In the desktop version of the CRM, in the sort dropdown for notes I see "All" and "Client Only". However, I can't find anything that indicates how to mark something as "Client Only". How is this functionality supposed to work?
