Hello everyone,
By now all of you must have got an idea of our Cliq Channels. If not then it's fine, just continue through this post.
Why are channels needed? What is the use of channels? How does it help me?
Channels are a way to collaborate with anyone and everyone instantly for anything from projects, work to entertainment and hobbies. Let me list out a few channels I have mentioned so far in previous posts (Cliq Channels) to get a better idea.
The reason I mentioned these channels is to drive home that one can create any number of channels and stay in tune with everything needed. Organization channels can be created where everyone can join. Teams within the company can create channels specific to them and collaborate efficiently. Private channels can be created for a closed group ranging from hotfix issues, projects to lunch mates. External channels can be created when collaboration is needed with other organization users.
Now that we've understood the need for channels, let me tell you one more important step. Guess what.. you need to
Join the channel to enjoy being a part of it! Yes, that's right, joining a channel is important to being a part of that channel. You can join Org, Team and Multi-team channels whereas in Private and External channels you should be added by others.
Joining a channel is a walk in the park. All you have to do is click on the (
+) of channels in LHS. The list of available channels will be displayed with the channel name, description and participant count. You can also enter the channel name in the search bar to look for it. After finding your required channel, just click on the
Join button next to participant count and Voila! You are now a part of that channel.
Note:
New channels created will be displayed with a number count in LHS, so that the users will be able to see and Join according to their interest.

At any case you want to leave a channel, you can do so at anytime. To leave a channel, hover over the channel in LHS and click on the info icon to get channel preview. Here, you can click on
Leave button to exit a channel. You can join back again anytime in the same channel.
Do take note that you will not be able to join back in Private and External Channels on your own, as only a member of that channel can add you back.

So folks, along with the liberty to create channels and join existing channels, you can also leave a channel anytime. It's super awesome right? Cliq gives you control over all aspects of a Channel. If you have any more queries or thoughts regarding Channels, then just leave a comment. We will get back to you. Until next time! Psst..also check out the
Channels help page to know more.
