Combine Chinese (Chinese) language and English in Record

I have a client whose database is English-based but who has users in China. They want all records in English in order to collaborate, but China users would like two extra fields to enter Contact Name and Company Name in Chinese characters. They are not having luck doing this (characters entered as Chinese display as random, non-Chinese characters). Thoughts?
