Confusing merge tag functionality or bug in CRM templates

Hello,

In CRM templates I have 2 identical templates. One in the contacts (renamed to parents/carers) module and one in a custom module (named children).

In the custom module I can access any field through merge tags from the contacts module. But I cannot access any additional merge fields of my custom module when I am in contacts. Why is this?

e.g. when i am in my custom module i create a template, I can pull in a field from the contacts (parents/carers) module.

I cannot do this the other way around as i do not see the 'children' module. In fact, this list doesn't represent my active modules e.g. 'venues old' isn't visible as a module.

perhaps there is a bug as i have also deleted a lot of the fields that are still appearing in th emerge tags list. All of th ebelow have been deleted from the parents/carers module
