I have about 600 contacts to import; is there a way to import multiple .vcf files in one operation.  I would prefer not to go through the import file procedure 600 times (!).

I am choosing .vcf as I want the photos to import; otherwise I would choose .csv.

Better still I would sync these Outlook contacts to Zoho, if your sync functionality were working well in the Outlook Mail Suite utility (hint hint); or if photos were imported through the Google contact import feature (no photos are imported).
