The most horrible, hideous. and completely useless invention in the history of email is Conversation View. And now it has found its way to Zoho Mail.
I understand that some people actually like Conversation View. That's great. If you like it, then why not have the option to use it? If it works for you, then that is great. But for goodness sakes, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not force it on those that don't want it!!!!! It absolutely destroys any possibility of zero-inbox email management. It makes a complete mess out of everything if you are trying to use email for work and there are multiple messages about one thing that can go to different people at different times. Gmail rammed it down everyone's throats by refusing to offer a way to disable it in their mobile apps (although you can disable it in the web app), and for that reason myself and many others have abandoned Gmail,
Here is where I see it as of now when I write this:
ZOHO WEB CLIENT at mail.zoho.com (the new version)
You can go to Settings then Conversation, then under Conservation View click on Turn Off.
A+ !!! That is great! I can turn it off, and everything appears to work as it should. Each email is treated individually and is not connected to any other.
Please do not ever take away this function to turn off Conversation View!
IOS App (V 2.03.)
In Settings Under Mail Conversation you have Conversation View which you can switch On or Off. Turning it OFF makes everything work as it should.
A+ !!! That is great!
Please do not ever take away this function to turn off Conversation View!
Android App (V 2.0.3)
UPDATE- Zoho Support has provided the answer as to how to turn off Conversation View on the Android, I missed this setting.
You can disable the conversation view by going on to the 'Settings' option (gear icon) -> User Accounts -> Select the mail account -> Disable conversation view.
A+ !!! That is great!
This is great, once again Zoho WINS against the accursed Gmail. Thank you for providing the capability to turn off Conversation View on all of the mobile apps! And please don't take it away :)
