Converting a contact into a potential

Im new to zoho and sorry if this may have been already answered. But I find it frustrating that zoho CRM is not as robust to support different TYPES of businesses. We have to work our business around their business model.

The lack of relationships between leeds and accounts has forced me to user the potentials as a way to observe people we directly work with and use contacts as a way to see all the people we have had contact with in a certain organisation. So my question is, is there no way of converting a contact into a potential without having to create a brand new potential and keep looking back and forth for information.

Also I have been emailing the support@zohocrm.com. The replies are not prompt and will not answer all the problems we question. Its like we only get one answer a day.
