I am trying to create a "Pacing Report", which basically is comparing last years performance vs. this years.  What the rub is for me is that we are in the events business so the event may not run the exact same day as last years event.

So to get around this, I am creating a formula field called XDate.  Which is meant to calculate the day of the year of the event as a number (day alone not day and time) that would increment every day.

Then I can create a report that compares the XDate field rather than trying to figure out how to match up the days.

What I am struggling with is the formula that I would use.  I don't see it in the dropdown selections on day/time in formulas.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
