We are a service business. This how we currently use Zoho CRM:
A person interested in our service calls/emails. We make them a "lead."
If they purchase our service, we make them a "contact."
(we are not using "potentials"). Is there any reason why we should?
Two questions:
1) when converting a "lead" into a "contact," we have to select something in a (meaningless for us) "potential stage" field. Is there a way of bypassing this, or customizing this "potential stage" to be something useful that gets mapped into our contacts fields?
2) We need to differentiate the status of our "contacts." ie. current customers vs. former customers etc. Is there some kind of folder or labeling system that I am unaware of? Currently we are using a custom "activity status" field. Is this the best approach?
