Copy/Paste Problem in Safari and Paste Options Problem in Firefox on Mac

I am unable to paste anything in Zoho Writer using the keyboard shortcuts as instructed. I'm on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.5.8 using Safari 5.0.  After copying text from within the same zoho document or from any another source, nothing appears when i use Command-V to paste it. It is clearly copied because i can paste the copied text into any other app.

Pasting does seem to work in Firefox (v 3.6.6). Yet it's doesn't seem to work as it's supposed to. The "Paste Options" menu appears but does not seem to affect the text in any way. Text won't change to the destination format or plain text. It just remains in the style it was copied from. It is not clear how this menu is supposed to work anyway. Is it supposed to alter the text that was just pasted, or is it a setting for all or future pasting? Can I set a default somewhere so that it always uses the destination format without showing the Paste Options menu?

Any help would be super appreciated. I'm desperately hoping that Zoho can replace the frustratingly sucky Google Docs editor! Thanx much!
