Is there any way to record the total number of deals which have reached a certain stage in the pipeline, in a given period?

Being able to see and compare how many deals reached a certain stage in our pipeline each month (regardless of whether they have progressed further or closed since reaching said stage) would be a helpful way to measure our performance and the quality of deals we receive from month to month.

Would something like this be possible? Either through reports or analytics? Any thoughts would be appreciated...
