Create a report showing recently changed or added notes?

I am trying to create a report that filters just by notes being created and/or modified during a date range.  After I create it, the report will run, but shows no results when there are notes from that time range.  What could I be doing wrong?  Is there an easier way?  I saw how to export Notes, but that pulls them all and then I would have to sort.  I just want to be able to see easily and quickly the notes made on any given day by my assistant.  Otherwise, I like what I see so far!
