Creating form to search dbase?

Hello. I'm not a dbase programmer, just a guy trying to use Zoho to help out a worthy cause (supporting organic farming in Nepal)

I've set up a database application, with a form and a few views. -- http://creator.zoho.com/nepsan

I'd like to create a form or view (not sure which!) which would be, essentially "Look up my Listing" -- allowing a user to quickly and easily search by first and/or last name (or whatever fields), and then - if no results, have the option to enter their data (via the form I've already created; OR, if they're already in the database, allow them to easily review and/or edit their data fields.

Can someone walk me thru the major steps here?
